Funeral Service

Assalamu Alaikum. In the grace of almighty Allah, the Islamic Center of Hawaii has established the FIRST Muslim Graveyard on Big Island, Hawaii. We have purchased one section from the Maunakea Memorial Park, LLC (https://www.facebook.com/MKMP.HI/) and started the FIRST Muslim graveyard on Big Island, Hawaii naming it "Garden of Paradise". The Garden of Paradise is located at 27-696 Kaieie Road, Papaikou, Hawaii. The price of $2,500.00 per plot is guaranteed through the date of December 31, 2026. We need to also pay digging and other processing cost.

Step 1:

Graveyard Selection

At Maunakea Memorial Park, we have one section consists of 10 lots. Each lot was brought for $2500 plus processing cost including digging.

Step 2:

Contact Islamic Center of Hawaii

Step 3:

Reserve a Funeral Home

Family or responsible party needs to contact a local funeral home and make a reservation for funeral services. Generally, we use Ballard Family Mortuaries or Dodo Mortuary

Step 4:

Collect Death Certificate & Burial Permit

Family or responsible party needs to contact hospital and collect death certificate and burial permit.

Step 5:

Perform Ghusl & Janaza

The Islamic Center of Hawaii will work with family and funeral home to perform Ghusl (Islamic burial washing) and Janaza (funeral) prayer
