Matrimonial Service

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

Congratulations on your upcoming marriage! The Islamic Center of Hawaii provides complete Nikah (Islamic wedding) services for Muslims on Big Island. We perform both the religious ceremony and legal marriage registration recognized by the State of Hawaii.

Our qualified marriage officiant, Dr. Shawon Rahman, will guide you through the entire process, ensuring your union is blessed according to Islamic tradition and legally valid.

Getting married through ICH is simple. Just follow these steps:

Step 1:
Marriage Registration

Complete the marriage registration at http://emrs.ehawaii.gov/emrs . You need to pay a $60 application fee and complete the application. Please select “Shawon Rahman” as your marriage performer. In addition you need to pay $250 service charge to IcHawaii (cash preferred)

Step 2:

Once you receive the license number, please make an appointment with the marriage performer (Professor Dr. Shawon Rahman). Please send an email at icHawaiiUSA@gmail.com and/or call at +1-808-932-7524.

Step 3:
Appear in Person

Please appear in-person with your future spouse for the marriage performance. You need to bring at least two adult witnesses for this event. If you are not able to bring two witnesses, you can request the marriage performer to arrange three witnesses. In this case, you need to pay additional charge for arranging witnesses. You need to also bring official/legal documents (such as a Driving License, Passport, State ID, etc.) for you and your spouse.

Fill and sign a marriage contract document in front of three witnesses and the performer. The marriage performer will keep a record of your marriage contract document and legal documents such as Driving Licenses, Passports, etc.

Step 5:
Ceremony Conduct

The marriage performer will conduct your marriage and submit all documents to the State of Hawaii Department of Health for further processing.

Step 6:
